LEV DESIGN RESPONSIBILITY

The 2002 COSHH regulations place a duty on employers to control exposure to hazardous substances in the workplace as detailed in Regulation 7, associated Approved Code of Practices, Guidance and Schedule 2A (Principle of good practice for the control of exposure to substances hazardous to health). Further guidance is detailed in the HSE publication HSG 258 – Control of Airborne Contaminants.

The selection of engineering controls, in the form of Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) equipment (or parts of), purchased through this website should be done by a competent person in accordance with the regulations and guidance stated above following a suitable risk assessment (as detailed in COSHH` reg. 6) by the employer.

As a distributor, we cannot be aware of the processes and contaminants associated with the application of the equipment purchased on this website and therefore can take no responsibility for the ability of the equipment to control the hazardous substance for which it may be used.

We accept no liability for the misuse of any equipment purchased via. levfiltershop.com.

We would also recommend that all LEV equipment purchased on this website is correctly commissioned and proved effective by a competent engineer. It is the responsibility and a legal requirement of all employers who purchase any LEV equipment to ensure that such controls are Thoroughly Examined and Tested at least once every 14 months (or at the interval specified in Schedule 4 or the COSHH 2002 regulations)
